The URBACT II programme was officially launched at the urban conference held in Berlin on November 6th. The URBACT II programme was adopted by the European Commission on 2/10/2007. The first call for proposal will be published in the next few days.

URBACT II will continue to promote the exchange of experiences between cities and European actors involved in urban programmes under URBACT (2000-06). There will also be funding opportunities for a network of cities on housing issues such as housing affordability (see attachment) or new demands on housing. As soon as the Urbact II call for proposals is published (by end of November or beginning of December), CECODHAS is willing to support the setting up of a city network on those issues. In the meantime, CECODHAS members are urged to contact potentially interested cities in their country.

Furthermore the first call for applicants for the constitution of a pool of experts has been lunched and will be open throughout the first period of the programme,31st december 2010.
