Energy Ambassadors campaign |

Many households can no longer pay their energy bills because of rising raw materials prices and economic crisis. The aim of the campaign, which was launched in May 2009, is to help those households in energy poverty, by training social workers to advice these men and women in their day to day lives on possible and concrete solutions.
This campaign already proved very successful in France. This is why it was extended to eight more European countries: UK, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
A number of social workers in these countries have been or are still to be trained to become experts on energy efficiency and energy savings. By targeting at least 200 social workers, out of whom 156 will become official « Energy Ambassadors », the project is expected to benefit around 15 600 people each year.
