Rudy de Jong, presented on the 27th January, at an hearing of the European Parliament, the main problems our members are confronted to in implementing the Public procurement EU rules. Our position was prepared by our experts working group on Public procurement.
The Members of Parliament have been very interested to hear our views, mainly because they are based on concrete examples, (you can find the presentation here). This was a first step. Now the MEP Heide Rhule, from the Internal Market Committee, will draft an initiative report to ask the Commission to adapt the current rules so that public procurement rules are easier to apply and more “reality proof” than today. Then the European Commission will start looking at more concrete proposals to amend the current rules or complete them (as in the context of the Concessions).
